I have GM360 which i am trying to program to the 144/146Mhz Ham band. I have cps version 03.09.03 and one of the multi programming leads. When i try to connect to the GM360 the software tells me to check the radio is on etc and it can not open the port. The software and lead works fine with my GP360. Anyone point me in the right direction with this?

Thank You

Hi,
I had a similar problem with my GM360 and it turned out to be my programming lead, bought a new one and worked perfectly, the one I bought is a ribless type.

Hi Nick
Thanks for the reply, well the lead was tested on another GM360 yesterday and worked fine. So I wonder if something has changed on the newer GM360'S that stop the ribbless leads from working........time to scratch my head i think.

Bad contacts in the mic jack?Look at the ribbon cable from the contolhead to the radio too.
You should change the controlhead and try it again, to find the problem.

Indeed yes,  just very odd that on a ribbed programmer it works fine?

well yesterday i decided to try again but this time i removed the remote head kit from the radio.........guess what....worked first time. So i can only deduce that something on the remote kit does not like the ribb less lead Smiley

Sorry didn't realise it had a remote head, you can't program the radio via the remote head, like you said you have to plug the prog lead into the radio itself, I found that out the hard way as well :-)
