Device Update Problem

Hello,

I have installed the firmware upgrades I require for my dm3400 to c:/program files/motorola/mototrbo cps/device updates folder but when I try to update device from within the CPS i get a message saying no matching package exists. I have checked and rechecked the model number etc and I'm positive the files are correct.

Any ideas as to why it can't find the update? The only thing I was wondering was do I need an earlier version of the upgrade?  My firmware version is R01.01.00 and the update is for R01.06.20.

Hi Brian,

Previously you needed to select the upgrade package which corresponded to the correct radio supertanapa number (as indicated by a label on the radio) and not the model number (note: there are multiple supertanapas for each model).

However, for subscriber firmware version R01.6.20 (onwards) all upgrade and recovery packages have been consolidated into three compressed packages; one for all portable models, one for all mobile models and one for all repeater models (additionally there is also a recovery package available for the new MTR3000 repeater). So now you can now cover all mobile supertanapas with just a single upgrade package.

Since you are upgrading to firmware version R01.6.20, you need to ensure you have CPS version 5.5 or 5.6 installed for this upgrade.

Finally, since you are upgrading from firmware version R01.01.01, I recommend you re-align the Front End Filter of the radio (using the tuner) following the upgrade. This is recommended when upgrading from all pre-R01.4 releases and is required to ensure optimal roaming performance on IP Site Connect systems.
