Just loaded Windows 7 (mistake) and am getting ready to try reading my GP380 with this operating system. Should I expect any problems? Is there a different procedure i should follow compared to Vista?

Do a search on here - its been discussed before.

I cant get my win 7 laptop to read the gp series - and thats with genuine motorola cables and genuine latest software.

Started a ticket with motorola support - and the answer was - we arent developing the gp series software any more, so go use a non win 7 laptop.

Ive tried using compat mode etc, but nothing will work with me. Keep an old laptop running xp or vista !!

Hi,

Motorola is not developing the gp series software any more ?

Latest release was done in June, no more release so ?

If they stop developing CPS for waris, it means no more developing for FW too...   Waris series is down ?

Give us more info please.

I heard this about a year ago, that they will cancel the Waris series in the next months.

I never have any luck with ANY forum search engine. Hence, I did not attept a search. The distributor I acquired the radio, cable and software from claims it will work but I'm afraid to try!

As I say Tom, its only what I have had from a support tech, when I moaned that it wouldnt work with my win 7 laptop.

As win 7 is going to be the 'one' for a few years yet, you would of thought they would stop bothering AFTER developing a win 7 version.

I will start another ticket if needed - to get another opinion - but having Andreas say it as well (and hes over the other side of the eu) then i'm thinking the writing's on the wall !

Proper Windows 7 driver has been found. Let me know if you need a copy of it. It is version 3.3.10.140.

I am not sure if this is the correct topic, but here I go. I have an eMachines desk top with XP software and every so often when I try to program my GP68 it tells me I will not open comport or no power. I have gone thru the diognostics on the computer and every thing is ok. I am using a ribless seriel port cable. I have a USB cable coming , will it work better?
Thanks

Possibly. Your chances will improve with the Motorola "factory" cable.

I got the CPS to work perfectly with Windows 7 32-bit, but the 64-bit is a no go.
