gm380 head showing error test 8 failed

I have just had a radio,that a lad had tried to fit a mtm700 head to a gm380 body with no joy,now when the radio was put back together,the original head is now showing error 8 as well as the mtm head when tested,i have tried both heads on several gm380s now and they all say error 8,any ideas guys.

There is a sticky on the top of the forum with all the error codes on.

Although I can't see it, as I'm using my stupid blackberry.
