Right, ive been struggling with this for quite a while now. Ive tried to sort it myself but just cant seem to get myself out of this hole!!

Ive got an MTP850 (380 - 430 Mhz) and when i originally read the radio, I got a password prompt. I didn't have the password, and as its my only 380 - 430 Mhz radio, i had no replacement codeplug to overwrite it. i thought it was a dead duck anyway, so i decided to take drastic measures.

I deleted the software, thinking it would take the password with it. This was based on the assumption that i could recover and re write the software (which I couldn't!).

Dumb idea. The password is part of the codeplug aint it?

So now I have a radio with no software (wont turn on) and it contains a codeplug which is password protected!!

Im starting to think I should have stuck to GP series radios! LOL!

Anyway, have any of you guys got any ideas?

Thanks,
Dave

I've done the same, still looking for depot to recover the radio, but my problem was not a password issue.

M3ODQ where abouts are you? I can fix your radio for you but would have to come to Preston where I live or send it to me.
