Hello there
I'm now the proud owner of 2 second hand UK GP380's (Yippee). I thought I'd switch them on and use them in summer for bike to bike chat. Ahhhh not quite that simple is it. They wont talk to each other. So after reading lots and lots and watching video's (thanks Dave). I bought a usb to serial cable! Took me 2 days but i found the right drivers and eventually got the computer to talk to the GP380 even with the handicap of vista. I can read the S/N, the model number, the software version and all the lovely info on there, but i cant read the bloody codeplug!!!. I've tried eleventy million CPS's and I'm drowning in a sea of R3.01.04 numbers. Sorry to waffle on and i have enjoyed learning all this stuff. All i wont is to be able to switch them both on give one to me mate and extract the urine out of his riding skills all day. Please someone give me a clue of what to do next.
Some techy stuff for you.
model                    H25RCH4AN6
s/w V                    R03.07.05
code plug version    05.00
Firmware Part no.    5107414A01R0108

Thanks in advance

Hello again

Dave you're a absolute motorola genius!!!! That's it. Twas the s/w version, 03.10.03 was more difficult to find than the rest but it works a treat, Ive just backed it up and now i can tweak and poke to my hearts content. Thanks again. I'm going to have ago at getting them to tx/rx to each other (hope thats the right term). I'll have alook at the videos again and let you know.
Once again thankyou
