Hello to all, merry xmas, happy hols, new to radio comms and forum so please excuse the lack of knowledge. I have a GP 380 purchased from Hong Kong that upon programming now displays a codeplug err and will not desist until the battery is removed. Markings on the back case are "Tanapa :PMUD1579A, VER.NO:R05.06.03, Model No :AZH25KDH9AN6. After reading the forum I see there is another subsciber with the same issue. I gather that this radio needs to be "re flashed" for a reinstall of firmware. Could anyone please give a step by step guide to what I need to perform this proceedure and how to go about it. The CPS software supplied with the GP380 is R03.08.03, if the firmware is upgraded to a later version does the CPS also need to be graded and if so where is this all available ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You can reflash a copy of the firmware which will fix the problem. You may need a newer version of the cps.

you need to contact Motorola for the software.

Thanks Dave, Ok I understand the reflash of firmware, the support group markets a flash adapter, this I understand is what I will need combined with the serial programming lead I already have (9 pin serial to 13 pin radio port (4 pins only active in lead).(correct me if at any time I am wrong), is a copy of the firmware available as a download, I am quite happy to become a financial member to rectify the issue with this paper weight as well as its began to intrigue me as I have been reading and learning more. And is this common, if so is it a confict problem or simular?
Many thanks for your time

Hi

We do have the required flash adapters, you will need a 25pin to 13 pin radio port (5 pins must be wired - showing the pins)
and the software.
