Sorry for the **** question i'm very new to this
however the CPS software R03.08.03 wont recognise
my VHF GP339, i'm using a ribless usb cable <-wrong?
I dont have a serial port on my laptop.
I'm in Australia if that matters.

Any ideas?

What error message are you getting?

The ribless cable should work fine.

R03.08.03 is for EMEA zone, you're located to australia so AZ Zone (Asia & Pacific), you need another version...
Or you can change region code into radio (hack), maybe you need to change firmware too...
There is a tip to disable zone check into CPS, have a look at batlabs forum.

Use PMVN4039P or PMVN4040P for GP339/329 asia version.
