gp380 problem

i have a gp380 vhf 255 ch, radio has worked perfect up until last week, i replaced the battery and now when i turn the radio on, it keeps cycling on and off even with the power knob turned on, have you seen this, and is there anything i can do or does it gotta go to the shop thanks
