Hi,

I bought 2 Motorola GM1280's which are flashed to GM380's.
For programming I'm searching for the right software.
type: M25KHN9CK8
software: R02.01.00 (read using upgradetool, the unit itself is labeled with nr R02.00.22)
codeplug: 04.10

I just can't find the R02.01.00 software. Is this one available or should I use another version or upgrade the GM's?

Thanks!

Pieter

Hi Peter,

The "software" R02.01.00 is in fact the radio firmware release (radio OS) and does not refer to any direct CPS version.

The actual radio type is trunked not conventionnal  (M25KHN9CK8) but maybe you read it from sticker not from internal memory ?

If the radio has been already flashed into conv version, model number should be M25KHN9AN8.

Do not 'trust' stickers labels if radio is already flashed. Try to read it with CPS or go to the menu and check radio info.
What's the actual real firmware version and CP release. (R02.01.00 reference is too old to be GM3xx conventionnal Firmware release)

When reading the radio with a FlashGrade utility it shows:

model number: M25RHN9CK8      (however this is trunking, the radio is now programmed with several LPD and PMR 70cm frequencies...)
serial number: 103TDE6962
ESN: 002/03/018592
software version: R02.01.00
Codeplug version: 04.10
last programmed: 200106151038
codeplug part no: 8266553A06
firmware part no: 8266554A08
Radio IC: $15 $06 $85

I tried several CPS versions but none with succes...

Hi Pieter,

Radios are not flashed !

You have to use old MPT CPS from 2003 (Phase 3 CPS), something like R00.02.1x , part number ENVN4006 (latest is R00.08.08).

It's better to use Andréas method to flash radio into GM380

Thanks! The radios aren't flashed and programmable through the MPT software. However, it seems that this software has no possibility to configure the units for repeater usage.

What's the best method to flash the radios into GM380? The radio came with a custom made PCB with DB9 comport connector and some screw terminals making a 2-wire connection to the RJ45 connector on the radio. Can I make some kind off ad-onn to this which acts as a flash-adapter?
