Hi,

I am looking for a power meter for adjusting the transmission power of Motorola Mototrbo DP3601 on digital channel .
I would like to change the transmit power - low level - from 1W to 2W.
I have TUNER software but I need additional watt meter that would read the transmit power in continuous mode for TDMA.

Does anyone have experience with such tuning ?

When you tune a MOTOTRBO radio it transmits in analogue mode, so a normal analogue comms analyser will do the job.

For changing the transmit power in analogue radios (Motorola GP-340 for example) I'm using "Diamond SX-400".

When I connect SX-400 to mototrbo DP3601 and turn on the radio on analogue channel I will get the power level, but on digital channel the pointer of my tester is in constant motion from 0 to 5W ( This is done with high frequency ).

If I change the transmit power for the selected frequency on analog channel , does it also  reduce the power for this frequency on a digital channel ?

You set the high and low power levels using the tuner. While you are setting these power levels the radio is in a test mode transmitting an analogue signal (on the Frequency Points listed on the tuner screen). The radio will then use these set power levels for both analogue and digital channels.

Thank you JtB

I have connected DP3601 (VHF version) to PC->Tuner and my "Diamond SX-400".
I got following readings:
Low = 0.7 W
High = 3.2 W

3.2W = 255 on the softpot.
If I set value greater than 280 I got a red flashing LED on the radio.

Is it correct ?
