Its a voice inversion scrambler board.

Made by airadio. (www.airadio.com)

It could be one of several different varients, depending on whats on the board.

The board itself will look like its a keypad button set, as thats where the option board goes. (a pcb with button pads on it).

Only ever seen encrypted vhf sets used by dhss benefit fraud investigators, and only then in a few places. (most dont bother, and are on uk general, using the huge numbers of people on uk gen as a cover).

worth about £200.

Manufacturers details:

XPTO03-KD full-duplex simple inversion scrambler was specifically designed to meet the encryption needs of the following Motorola Professional series portable two-way radios: GP360, GP380 and GP680

√ Offer 4 Modes of Installation

Yes, different software, the board being accessed through the normal programming cable of the radio.

There are different manufacturers of boards, so i assume different software for each manufacturer as well (cant seem to find any info online about a common platform for programming.

give air radio a shout, they may send you it - by the sounds of it, its a program made specialy for the board, so its worthless to anyone but yourself.

Is there any indicaiton from the radio that its got encrypted channels and ones in the clear ?

And (if you odnty mind me asking) where did you get the radio, is it an ebay job, or from some company changing kit over ? - As I said above, I really dont know of anyone in the uk using them !

I would drop them an e-mail Martin...

Just explain that you purchased the radio and it had one of their boards installed. You can offer serials numbers etc if they can/want to check it is all above board!

No harm in asking  Grin
