I had several GP344/388's... I was never a massive fan of them. They (for my application) were too small and easily lost.

My biggest bug was that there was no belt-clip attached to the radio itself. You had to use the 'quick-clip' system where the radio sits in its own little holder attached to your belt. This was useless for ladder work (not safe), crawling around under stages and generally running around. I had several of my GP344's 'lost' in busy crowds because A, they are so small and B, The belt clip system is useless.

Also, I found the audio quality was not as good as that on a full sized GP radio.

Unless you are using the radio's for covert work or really require a smaller radio I would have a good think about it. There are no more/less functions than a GP340... This radio was/is marketed purely for its size!

Thats just my 2p. It really comes down to your application for the radio, if you need something small then go for it... If its purely for the novelty I would'nt bother!
