As you spammed all the radio forums for this, I assume you have got your answer now anyway.

for anyone else finding this thread, there is no such thing as a 'blank' codeplug. they all come out of the factory pre set to something.

You may loose your tuning data. thus, turning your radio into something capable of receiving not much.
