I am working in Afghanistan and was asked to program our bases radios.  I have some GP360/HT1250/HT750 and I need the ability to enter radio ID and have the ID show up on the the receiving radios LCD.  I found where to define the four digit radio ID but have not found how to see that ID on another radio.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael,

Have a look at this post. It's a similar question to yours:

http://forum.motorola-radio-support.co.uk/index.php/topic,1092.0.html

I believe you can only use 3 digit I.D's. so 001-999.

You need to define your decoder groups (each group is a new decoder tab)- For example-
333- PTT I.D
444- Stun
555- Unstun
666- Silent Interrogate
777- Private Call
999- Emergency

To decode the 5tone you need to set a decoder to decode XXX(A1A2A3). The XXX is the group I.D number, so in this example you would use
333(A1A2A3) for the PTT I.D. (A1A2A3) is for UHF, if you are using a VHF system this is replaced with (S1S2S3). The (A1A2A3) is what decodes the 3 digit number and displays it on the radio.

You can then go to the 'Alias' tab and assign a name/radio I.D that is displayed on your screen rather than just 3 numbers.

Your encoder will be set to 333001 for radio 1, this will increase to 333002 for radio 2 and so on.

If you subscribe to the forum Dave has made some really good video guides showing you exactly how to set up 5tone PTT I.D's. It is really quite hard to explain and not be able to show you exactly what you are doing!

I hope this makes sense to you, any questions just shout. If you get really stuck then there are a few of us on the forum who will have a look at the codeplug for you if you e-mail it over.

Thank you for the quick response.  I followed the link and followed the steps so hopefully I did it right.  I have attached the codeplug for review.

Thanks

Hi Michael,

Your decoder definitions are not right... As George suggests I would subscribe to the forum and check out the videos. This way you will know exactly what you are doing for the next time you programme. We could write the codeplug for you, but if we do this you will be "none the wiser". However, if you try that and you are still stuck we will help you with what we can!

Also your Signalling Definitions seem very strange! Nothing to worry about, aslong as all the radios are programmed the same there will be no problem!

I will subscribe to the forum in a few minutes once I figure out how to do that.  If the videos are youtube based they are blocked from where I am at.

Thanks again.

I watched the video and followed it.  Planning to test a couple of radios today and see how they work.  Now I need to do the same thing for HT1250 and send radio ID for HT750.
