When you say ;beep beep' - do you mean a selcall ?

Go to per perosnality, and click on ptt tab. make sure the ptt keyup mode is disabled.

Having deciphered what you said (paragraphs wouldnt go amis !), you need to look at the channels which aren't talking 'back to back' and check that the tx and rx frequencies are the same.

Whilst you are in there, take a look to see what frequencies they are on, so you arent stepping over someone else, or are on their licence. If youve only got a uk general licence, then take a moment to make sure that you are only on those frequencies, or whatever allocations you have if you are on a technically assigned licence.

Hi Jono66,

Go back to Per Personality, PTT Tab then make sure the de-key box is unchecked at the bottom of the window. This should stop the 5tone (beep beep).

Are you batteries fully charged? The beep beep is also a battery low warning, but is a totally different sound to 5tone/selcall tones. It is common for a low battery warning after you have transmitted (as it uses the most power) if the batteries are low.

Hi Andy,

If you have disabled the 5tone PTT/De-Key I'm not overly sure what it is- considering this only happens when you release the PTT!

Without hearing it it's pretty hard to know if it is 5tone or something else. If you are still stuck make a recording/video and post a link, hopefully that way we will have a better idea.
