IGNORE THE BELOW, I THOUGHT YOU MEANT GP 340.

The GM 340 cover slips off the top, just prise it off from the left or right edges.

Its in the service manual - basically, take the battery off, and put a flat bladed screwdriver (or the special chasis removal tool) into the bottom of the radio, and slowly prise it up. Put the screwdriver between the metal of the back, and the case plastic.

BE CAREFUL and do it slowly - the flatter the scredriver the better - as once it gets to a certain point, it will pop out. Be very careful not to mash the seal around the edge. If you do, then you will need to see a dealer / order a new one.

The entire of the radio inside is static sensitive, so wear a static strip to discharge yourself.

there's not much to tinker with on a 340. the boards are all smt boards, with tiny tiny bits on.

If you are good with electronics, then download the service manual, and give it a go !
