Anyway the questions The one fitted to the bike has decided not to power on Using the Remote haed from my vechile I determined that the radio is OK as it poered mine up The head on the bike did flicker to live and displayed error message briefly that read Test 8 failed Anybody know what this fault is and is there a document with these faults available which will give the resolutions to repair or replace The second question for my own set I want to start trying to Flash Update the radio I know that this could make an expensive paperwieght if it goes wrong what version of update should I use and how to do i get it

Thanks in advance for any help

Test 8 Failed - led flashes Eight times  = Radio Model Number failure. Reprogram codeplug for correct model.

When was the last time you programmed it - it would appear it doesnt like the codeplug in it. write a new codeplug to it, has solved problems before.

The flash for the radio comes comes with your programming software. Rob will sell you the software on here, as he is a motorola dealer. Im sure you will have a copy floating around as a comms officer, somewhere in the organisation.

By the way, Red Cross are going tetra at the end of this year (and are slowly pushing out a changeover now), so if you are with them, dont spend too much money on radios at the moment, its all about to change !

Hi
Thanks for the reply Ihave checked the code plug and it seems ok the flash is just a project for me
I am with STjohn Ambulance we have looked at the possibilty of tetra but as we have got so many divivsions that all have vhf radios it has been decided that only a few vechicles and divisions will get some as the sets are expensive and the divivsions are responsible for the purchase of any addidtional sets

Regards
